Privacy policy
This policy explains what information Tuscany Bags collects and how we use it. We handle your personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.
What we collect
When you place or begin an order we collect your name, contact details, shipping address and order information. If you start checkout but do not complete it, we may keep these details to send you a reminder to finish your order. Payment is processed securely by Stripe; we do not store your card details.
How we use it
We use your information to process and deliver your order, provide support, send order-related updates and reminders, and (where you opt in) send marketing updates. We share only what is necessary with our supplier and carriers to fulfil your order.
Sending your details overseas
Every order is fulfilled by Tuscany Leather in Italy and dispatched from there, so your name, delivery address and phone number are sent to Italy, and to the carrier handling your parcel, each time you order. That is the only purpose they are sent for. Italy is in the European Union and is covered by the EU General Data Protection Regulation. If you would rather not have your details sent overseas, we cannot fulfil an order to Australia, because there is no other way for the piece to reach you.
Live chat & AI assistant
Our website offers a chat assistant (“Giulia”) to answer questions about our products and services. Giulia is an automated (AI) assistant, not a human. When you use the chat we collect the messages you send, basic technical information such as the page you are on, and — if you choose to share it — your name and email so our team can follow up. These messages may be processed by our AI provider (OpenAI) solely to generate replies. We do not use them to make automated decisions about you, and we never ask for payment-card details in chat. You can contact us at any time to access or delete your chat data.
Cookies
We use a session cookie to remember your cart. Analytics cookies help us understand how the store is used. Once you start a checkout, follow a link in one of our emails or sign in, a cookie links this browser to your email, so we can remember which pieces you looked at and, if you are on our list or have ordered before, send you a note about one you kept coming back to. Anonymous visits are never recorded. You can control cookies in your browser settings.
Advertising
We advertise on Google. Google's advertising tags on this site record visits and purchases so we can measure which ads lead to orders and show ads to people who have visited before. When you order, your email address, phone number and delivery address are converted on your device into an irreversible code (hashed) and shared with Google only to match the order to an ad you clicked; Google does not receive them in readable form. You can control personalised ads in your Google Ad Settings (adssettings.google.com) and block these tags in your browser. After an order, Google may offer to email you a short survey about it (Google Customer Reviews); you choose whether to take part. We also keep a small cookie for up to 90 days that remembers how you first and most recently reached us (for example the ad or search engine you came from, and the page you landed on), and copy it onto your order so we know which of our advertising works.
